The Story

Description

This is a rare and highly praised variant of Cryptocoryne originating from Southeast Asia. This aquatic plant is characterized with its narrow leaves, displaying an intense coloration, somewhat similar to Cryptocoryne nurii. Cryptocoryne albida 'Red' is a rare plant to obtain, which is why it is considered a seasonal item. It has similar growth patterns to other Cryptocoryne species; it's a slow growing plant. However, with nurture and care, it will grow to be aesthetically pleasing and will add more harmony to your aquarium. The fact that it requires low to medium lighting and that CO2 is optional, makes this plant versatile and capable of growing in low tech as well as high tech aquariums.

Tissue culture plants are grown in-vitro (literally: in the glass) in a nutrient-rich synthetic growing medium, either liquid or gel, without the presence of any other lifeforms. This guarantees a pest and disease-free specimen, while also providing accuracy throughout the trade.

Instructions

Tissue culture plants should be removed from the cup as soon as possible. All plants grow on some sort of synthetic growing medium, ranging anywhere from liquid to jelly to firm gel. This should be removed and rinsed off. Gently massage the roots between your fingers until the gel dissolves away. Most plants can be broken up into smaller pieces and spread out in your aquarium. Smaller pieces are easier to plant
